As an attorney in San Diego, Terry Chucas focuses on representing children and adults in local dependency courts. Terry Chucas has been recognized by the Martindale-Hubbell ranking service, an achievement shared by only the uppermost 10% of the nation’s lawyers.

Martindale-Hubbell analyzes feedback from lawyers’ clients and peers in the bar and the judiciary. Using a one-to-five scale (lowest to highest), clients rate attorneys on communication ability, responsiveness, quality of service, and value for the money. Peers also evaluate communication ability in addition to legal knowledge and experience, analytical capabilities, and judgment. In both types of ratings, Martindale-Hubbell ranks lawyers in specific practice areas, anonymizes information from clients and peers, and aggregates their responses.
For peer reviews, Martindale-Hubbell reveals generic information about positions and locations. The company also allows these lawyers to provide references from other attorneys. Peer-reviewed lawyers may also highlight two comments in the online display of results.
In both categories, rated lawyers can place their own replies to both client and peer reviews. For ethical reasons, reviewers are never compensated for their feedback.
